Casino Lingo

A gaming device, whether mechanical or electric machine or a software simulation of a physical device, that uses spinning reels to determine the outcome of the wager. Once known as a "one armed bandit" for the lever the player pulled to operate the game. Today's slot machines are electric powered machines, controlled by computers connected via a casino wide network, many without levers/arms.  Most modern slot machines no longer accept coins, eliminating the coin "slot" that gave the game it's name.
